Degens & Dragons is a web3 play-to-earn RPG, an NFT-locked on-chain game. It’s a competitive battle tournament where players battle foes, loot, upgrade, and vie for Sui prizes in a week-long challenge.

Enter the realm of Degens & Dragons, an NFT venture that requires skill over timing in its enticing pixelated world reminiscent of nostalgic spaces. This haven celebrates the adventurous side of blockchain enthusiasts, unapologetically displayed in all its glory. Prepare for an intense tournament, where degens battle fiercely for a share of the grand prize pool, showcasing their wits, cunning, and audacity. In this domain, rules can be bent (not really, but it sounds cooler that way), with the sole focus being on outsmarting rivals to secure dominance. Developed by Orange Comet Labs on the innovative Sui blockchain, Degens & Dragons introduces an elimination-style competition across five phases. Survivors not only attain glory on the leaderboard but also vie for substantial slices of the starting 10,000 SUI prize pool.

Degens and Dragons Review

This game is an unyielding battle of strategy and intellect, encouraging players to conquer enemies, upgrade, and compete for Sui rewards over an exhilarating week. Opponents evolve with experience, making the journey all the more challenging. A novel ICO has emerged on the freshly introduced “dragon” chain, igniting fervor among Degenerate Blockchain traders. Moreover, in keeping with their characteristic enthusiasm, these traders hastily engaged without delving into the contract details, swiftly transacting via their dragon wallets. Little did they anticipate that this impulsive decision would transport them into a gripping tournament. Furthermore, compelling them to vie for their liquidity.

The universe of Degens and Dragons unfolds within a 3D Hub Centre, where players traverse diverse locations to actively engage with the game. As players initially log into Degens and Dragons, a tutorial beckons, acquainting them with the various world locales and their respective purposes. This setting nurtures an environment of interaction and gameplay, offering a unique experience in the realm of blockchain entertainment.

Gameplay

Upon commencing a battle, players confront an AI-controlled adversary, engaging in five rounds where they strategically choose actions for attack. The available actions—Attack, Spell, Block, and Dodge—directly influence damage dealt to the opponent. Additionally, each character’s strength lies in three equipped NFT items (Head, Body, and Weapon), enhancing action effectiveness. Adopting a rock-paper-scissors dynamic, winning outcomes diminish the opponent’s inflicted damage. The cumulative scores, derived from these exchanges, shape the leaderboard standings. With the liberty to participate in multiple tournament phases, the gameplay hinges on strategy, mastery, and ingenuity. Through reinforcement learning, AI patterns are decoded, empowering players to counteract the AI’s actions strategically. The utilization of NFT items constructs tailored character builds, a strategic hallmark. Moreover, to underscore skill-based gameplay, reinforcement learning algorithms demonstrate an AI’s proficiency growth, validating the game’s strategic essence beyond chance.

Tokenomics

$SUI is the in-game utility and governance token based on the new SUI blockchain network.

Community Response

  • pascal377: Since web3 games might very probably be the main narrative of the next bull run, (or at least an important narrative) is it better to invest in a few selected choosen games, or in gaming enterprises like SUI Games or Ultra UOS
  • Jay-yr9oi: A potentially fun twist in season 2 would be for one character’s spark to ignite, at a really inconvenient time. Just have them blink out and leave the others in the lurch, then have to find their way back.
  • namelessbadguy229: Not my cup of tea but it seems like a good game to relax and kill time. Nice find
  • bluepunkrocker: I know SUI will have movement n prob grow, but the way they did us in airdrop sucked. I put tons of time beta testing, and at the end, they got greedy and dropped a token sale that we weren’t even allowed to participate in here in the states. I’m prob NEVER gonna interact with SUI or its network again.
