Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook ready to Rebrand and create their own version of the Metaverse. A MetaUniverse?
Facebook is getting ready to rebrand itself with the goal of making a metaverse in mind. A source says that the company will change its name in the next few weeks. It’s not MetaFace, no.
At Facebook’s annual Connect conference, CEO Mark Zuckerberg will talk to fans, employees, and other important people. The meeting will take place at the end of this month.
But he might tell you the new name sooner. The CEO of Facebook wants the company to be known for more than just social media, so he or she changed the name. After the rebranding, Facebook will almost certainly be part of a group of companies called a conglomerate.
Also, apps like Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, and others will be part of the parent company.
A few months ago, Zuckerberg talked about his plan to grow and said that over the next few years, “people will stop seeing us as mainly a social media company and start seeing us as a metaverse company.”
With this step, Zuckerberg will be able to focus more on his ideas and plans for the future instead of being stuck with Facebook and the problems it faces. Facebook gets a lot of criticism and close attention for how it runs and does business.
Because of Frances Haugen’s leaks, Congress got involved in Facebook’s business. Also, US antitrust regulators want to break up Facebook, which is leading to FB’s demise. A rebrand could be the start of a new part of Zuckerberg’s life.
Facebook is always working on technologies for the future. Facebook recently set up a team to work on its metaverse projects. Facebook also said it would hire 10,000 people in Europe for its metaverse project.
Zuckerberg told The Verge, “[Metaverse is] going to be a big focus, and I think this is just going to be a big part of the next chapter of how the internet changes after the mobile internet.
“I also think that doubling down in this area will be the next big step for our company.”
