Tencent Games to develop Metaverse like Games.
Tencent, one of the biggest companies in the video game industry, has decided to focus on AAA open-world games that work like a metaverse. The video game company’s new studio has a team of developers and executives from all over the world.
This new studio is set up to make AAA games that are built on the internet’s future.
Tencent sent a memo to all of its employees around the world telling them that the “F1” studio had been set up. TiMi Studio Group is in charge of the new studio, which will have workers from the United States, Canada, Singapore, and China. Also, the company’s career page showed that new people were being hired for the “F1” studio.
Tencent hasn’t used the word “metaverse” to describe its big plans for the future. But it used terms like “AAA, open world” and tried to think about the future or the next stage of the internet. Metaverse is a broad term for connected virtual worlds that people can get to through the internet.
Tencent filed to trademark more than 100 metaverse ideas last month. “QQ Metaverse,” “Kings Metaverse,” and “QQ Music Metaverse” are some of these ideas. QQ Metaverse is Tencent’s messaging app, Kings Metaverse is the hugely popular game Honour of Kings, and QQ Music Metaverse is the company’s music streaming service.
One of Tencent’s top graphic designers, Mao Xingyun, said that the main ideas for TiMi’s F1 studio came from the Oasis community in Ready Player One and Ernest Cline’s book. He said that building this kind of community is “the long-term goal for the TiMi F1 studio.”
TiMi Studios is a powerhouse when it comes to making games. It has made some of the most popular games ever, like Honor of Kings and Call of Duty Mobile. Last year, the studio brought in more than $10 billion.
So, there is a good chance that TiMi Studios will make a big deal out of the metaverse.
