The Bored Ape vibe further expands in 3D with a new part of its upcoming metaverse Otherside. This exclusive Otherside test by Yuga Labs the developer of Bored Ape Yacht Club took over a part of the CBS backlot last week. This time, the trip or test brought Bored Ape Yacht Club avatars into the game, taking another step toward realizing the massive metaverse dream.

The Otherside Trips and Road to the Metaverse

The First Trip to Otherside had over 4000 NFT holders, and the Second Trip had a massive theatrical showcasing of over 7000 NFT holders, but there were no avatars or personalization of gamers in those trips. Last week’s Thursday event was different as it hosted 40 NFT owners and fans inviting them to test a new in-game content of Otherside. Besides the new chunk, Yuga Labs was successful in creating the Bored Ape vibe by incorporating its avatar elements.

There are massive challenges involved in a game where thousands of players populate a game at a single point. These challenges range from technical to player support, and when you bring in avatars, the challenge doubles down. Talking about the online tests, Figge said, “We wind up testing almost too many things at once. Whereas the feedback we get in one of these sessions, we can cover much more ground. That gets us to the thing that people resonate with faster.”

The Recent Otherside Game Test

How was it in the recent metaverse test by Yuga Labs for Otherside? Well, for 40 NFT owners and fans, the metaverse was fun. There was a cool backdrop of Yuga Labs, the overall theme was dark, and smoky, with soft lights giving a club vibe. The virtual space also had food and drinks hosted by Bored & Hungry, and Ape Water respectively. Both brands hold commercial rights for the Otherside NFT project. Additionally, the virtual space had a lot of fun vibes, a mystery element, and a lot of personalization elements where everyone entered the test with their own Bored Ape avatars.

Additionally, the test offered players a guided walkthrough of the whole Otherside Island. Participants could run, jump, dance, and go ariel in the virtual playground. The virtual world seemed jaw-droppingly massive hosting callbacks from previous Yuga Labs game content. The test offered puzzles, race car, and outhouses.

A Massive Shift in Yuga Labs Otherside

The Second Trip was massive hosting over 7000 players NFT holders at a time. It was a spectacle. However, there wasn’t much to offer in one shared space except the population, and game loops. The third test offers a lot of features like fidelity, avatars, and other stuff the community already knows. The recent test was unique and it was ecstatic to see so many Ape holders in the metaverse with their personal avatars rendering. Everyone was excited to see their Ape, and one such guest exclaimed with happiness, “It’s my Ape!”

This is a massive leap toward the realization of the Bored Ape Yacht Club virtual world or metaverse. Previous tests were limited to identical avatars and were just a tech demo. Talking about the shift, Figge adds, “The avatars have always been on our roadmap. But it just makes sense that you would want to build it for the world that we’re going to really pour a lot of our time in. “I think what it does is say: It’s not just a JPEG. It’s a bigger idea that manifests in different ways. We’re really pushing our IP. I’m hoping that the release of the avatars is another leg to push that IP forward.”

The Bored Ape Avatars in the Otherside Metaverse

During the demo, the Apes themselves stole the show, becoming the clear protagonists of their own unique universe in Otherside. But then Figge, a key player in the project, dropped a bombshell: the platform’s potential goes far beyond the Bored Ape community. In Otherside’s vast landscape, other projects and creators can make their own unique experiences.

“This is a long-awaited dream come true for the Bored Ape Yacht Club community,” Figge said. “The fact that we can actualize this wish on our platform is evidence of the infinity of prospects. It allows any community to construct the worlds they envision.”

Enthusiasts anticipate the arrival of a ground-breaking space where countless communities can shape their wildest imaginations into reality, thanks to Otherside’s dedication to fostering creativity and inclusivity. As it continues to develop, the NFT community anticipates the arrival of Otherside and the unprecedented immersion it will provide.
